Every horse is an individual, and finding suitable equipment means looking beyond brands, trends and labels. My approach to bit and bridle fitting is centred on your horse's individual anatomy, comfort and way of going, alongside your needs and preferences as a rider.
Each consultation begins with a detailed assessment of your horse's head and oral anatomy, as well as their existing bridle and bit. We'll consider how the equipment sits and functions, looking at areas such as the poll, ears, jaw and inside their mouth, and how the design and fit of the bridle may influence comfort and movement.
Where appropriate, the assessment continues under saddle, allowing me to observe your horse in motion and consider how they respond to the current equipment. We'll explore suitable alternatives, discussing the reasoning behind each option and considering how different designs may affect your horse.
As an independent consultant, I don't promote particular brands or prescribe a one-size-fits-all solution. Recommendations are based on your horse's individual needs, and sometimes the most appropriate outcome is a small adjustment to existing equipment rather than a complete change.
Other options are available for horses who cannot yet be ridden for any reason, please contact to discuss further.

Sessions are centred around classical principles and tailored to the individual horse and rider. Depending on your goals and your horse's needs, sessions can include ridden work, groundwork, classical in-hand work and horsemanship.
Whether you're looking to develop your riding, improve your horse's way of going or work through a particular challenge, sessions are tailored to the individual horse and rider. My approach draws on classical principles, with an emphasis on improving balance, communication, confidence and understanding.
Lessons don't require a formal arena. I've worked in a variety of environments, including out hacking, and am happy to adapt sessions to the facilities available. Equally, if you'd prefer to work in a hired venue, I'm very happy to arrange that with you.
Schooling sessions can be arranged for horses where appropriate, whether you're looking to support your horse's ongoing development, maintain their fitness or need some help while you're away. Remedial and rehabilitation-focused schooling to support horses working through physical or behavioural challenges.
If you'd like some additional support, split lessons are another option. This can be particularly useful for working through specific challenges, developing your understanding or allowing me to establish a starting point before you get on board. The session can be adapted to suit your individual goals and your horse's needs.
